Reporting Bugs to Galeon
------------------------

Please bear in mind that Galeon uses Mozilla for HTML rendering. So before
filing a bug against anything that is NOT related to the User Interface
(dialogs, bookmark manager etc.) PLEASE do test if the problem persists with
Mozilla as well. If so, file the bug against mozilla, it HAS to be
fixed there.

Many bugs are related to plugins. Please check whether this is the case. If it
is, then your bug report should almost certainly go to the plugin maintainers.
Please tell them that galeon is compiled with gcc 3.2 - plugins are often
compiled with the old gcc 2.95, which has a different ABI.

Please do check Galeon Bugtracking on the Galeon homepage as well. Most bugs
have already been reported there, and you save us a lot of work if you tell us
the upstream bug number. Use http://galeon.sourceforge.net/support/bugs.php for
searching their bug reports.

Galeon is VERY much dependant on mozilla and gconf, if you have been using
galeon with older versions of any of these programs, please try running
                        galeon-config-tool --clean
                        **************************
first, or try to reproduce the bug with a new user id.

Non-critical, non-Debian-specific bugs (this includes feature requests)
***********************************************************************
*Please* send these requests directly to http://bugzilla.gnome.org, product
galeon, with a small note saying you're using Debian.

You will then be directly contacting the developers who write galeon - they
will be able to assist far better than I can. If you do report bugs to Debian,
I would probably just forward them to bugzilla anyway -- at some point in the
 future, when I have time.
If you're not sure whether a bug is Debian specific, report it here.
