INTRODUCTION

Cream configures the famous, free Vim text editor for those of us
familiar with Apple or Windows software.

For both Linux and Windows platforms, Cream has intuitive menus,
keyboard shortcuts and extensive editing functions so that Vim's power
is simple to use.

Cream uses the Vim's own extensibility to improve editing behavior;
there are no customizations to Vim itself so you can easily try Cream
without loading another version of Vim. Just download the files, put
them in a new subdirectory, and start Vim.

The goal of the project is to seemingly (and seamlessly) maintain
Vim's "insertmode" while still providing keyboard shortcut and menu
access to Vim's full functionality. Cream also has numerous custom
extensions beyond Vim which satisfy most editing needs.

Cream is a Common User Access (CUA) version of Vim. CUA was originally
a user interface standard of IBM's Systems Application Architecture,
but now generally refers to a broad, generally accepted set of
standard Command Key+letter keyboard shortcut combinations and menu
structures. Examples are found today in many GNOME, Apple, Microsoft,
KDE and BeOS operating systems and environments.

The project continues to develop and grow at a steady pace. Please see
the Cream web site (http://cream.sourceforge.net) for the latest
documentaton, downloads and features, and contact information if you
have questions or are interested in contributing to the effort!
