*** Cream (for Vim) Version 0.29 Released ***

======================================================================
The Cream (for Vim) project (http://cream.sourceforge.net) has
released the latest version of an easy-to-use configuration for Vim.
Cream configures the famous Vim text editor so that it is simple to
use for those of us familiar with Apple or Windows platform software.
Through intuitive menus, keyboard shortcuts, and extensive editing
functions, Cream makes Vim approachable for new users and adds
powerful features for experienced users on both Windows and Linux.

Release Summary

This release features a new installation structure. Now multi-user by
default on both Windows and Linux, Cream sessions can now be run
independently of Vim sessions without Cream. User files are now
generated on startup automatically and no longer need to be created
manually. Other refinements include new icon graphics, installation
scripts for Linux (complete with GNOME menu icon), swap files now
located in the same directory as the edited file, and many bug fixes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Some specific new Cream features in the 2004 April 24, v0.29 release:

Major Improvements
------------------
o New installation location, now consolidated within the Vim program
structure alongside Vim's standard runtime files.
o Run both Cream with Vim and stand-alone Vim at the same time.
o Default multi-user installation on both Windows and Linux.
o Each user profile is now created automatically.

Minor Improvements
------------------
o Bug fix for toolbar errors on new installations.
o Fixed Vim version error not reported correctly in some cases.
o Created an initial Cream icon (.ico). (It still needs a bit of
  refinement, especially at smaller scales.)
o Changed Cream startup shortcut key to Ctrl+Shift+C..

Advanced User Improvements
--------------------------
o New Linux installation script INSTALL.sh, which includes the
addition of Cream within the GNOME Applications menu. Also useful
for updating installations from a developer set.
o New Windows installation script INSTALL.bat, mostly convenient for
installing or updating existing installations from a CVS checkout.
o Swap files of open files are now opened within that file's
directory. This provides a visual means of identifying open files
and makes finding recovery files more intuitive.
o Prototyping (Alt+9) now possible without opening taglist.
o Updated Ruby support to version 1.8.
